What is the most important aspect
to starting an interior project?
The client's brief and genius loci.
What influences your selection of furniture in a setting where the client has fine items they plan to keep?
These pieces must be integrated so as to enhance the final design.
Your rooms are timeless interpretations that are at once classic yet forward, is that symbolic of your personal style?
I’m a Modernist at heart which has imbibed Classicism and Traditionalism.
Do you have a personal favorite period of for furniture and interior decoration?
I’m partial to all that is best in all periods - my only prejudice is against Art Nouveau.
What would be your ideal project? Money and restrictions are no object.
An island for which I would be responsible for the urbanization, country
planning and all the architecture.
Where do you find the most inspiration? You are a known book collector do you find reading and hardcover books a major source of your inspiration?
Yes, sources of inspiration come from travel, museums and art galleries from
around the world, opening one’s eyes and reading and acquiring knowledge.
Do you feel one's
personal lifestyle principles guide one's every aesthetic decision?
Only if disciplined.
